A native, lifelong resident of Beaumont, Texas, Marlon Quibodeaux began working for his father, Gilbert, at the age of 12. His father, Gilbert, was raised in an orphanage, and lived his life in this area for most of it. Tragedy took Gilbert home, he passed away in 2004.
In his passing, he left behind a great legacy as an incredible entrepreneur with six companies. He had always encouraged Marlon to go to college and taught him many things about running business for himself.
In December, 1984, Marlon Quibodeaux received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Lamar University in Beaumont. In January, 1985, Marlon founded Southern Star Gymnastics and Southern Star Cheerleading Camps.
In December, 1985, he married his wife, Tiffany. Together for next 23 years, they had the pleasure of instructing and entertaining children from over 100 different cities across Texas and Louisiana. Southern Star offered classes, birthday parties, family fun nights, slumber parties, private parties, winter and summer camps, apparel/gift shop, food concessions, vending machines and an arcade.
Marlon and Tiffany were blessed with a son, Tyler in 1992 and a daughter, Autumn in 1995. In 1997, Marlon had a vision to expand the scope of their business and to have the opportunity entertain more children, adults and grandparents. It took ten years of careful planning before opening.
On Thanksgiving, 2007, Marlon, Tiffany, Tyler and Autumn opened Adventure Kingdom. It is a one-of-a-kind castle themed family entertainment park. The park was designed by the company that built the first Six Flags in Arlington, Texas. The renaissance-themed 18-hole miniature golf was crafted by artist and designers from Canada. The one-of-a-kind mini golf course was designed to be fun for kids but challenging for adults. There is nothing like it in Southeast Texas for that matter the entire world! One of the exciting rides at Adventure Kingdom is the spinning bumper cars. You would be hard pressed to find any bumper cars like these, there are only two other facilities in the state of Texas that have them! Our swan paddle boats are also very unique; you would have to go all the way to the Boston Harbor to find the swan boats! Our Water Wars, our newest attraction, is now being put on cruise ships, save the ticket price of a cruise and come to Adventure Kingdom and check them out! Some of the customers have stated that the Water War game is like chips “you can’t just buy one bucket”! The Water Wars attraction has had many happy repeating customers.
Our new candy shop offers a walk down memory lane for the parents and grandparents with our hard to find retro candy. It also gives the kids of all ages a huge selection of all the newest and never before seen candy, even something for the little ones in your life our famous Cowtown Cookies (watch out toddlers Mom is going to snag one!). Our candy shop also has some of the yummiest frozen treats, something for everyone.
We offer picnic tables under giant oak trees and on our patio, volleyball, horseshoes, outdoor play toys, playhouses and more.
Marlon being sensitive to the handicap people in our community (a cousin that was paraplegic) decided to build the park completely handicap accessible. With this special design this will allow strollers to also be easily pushed throughout the park.
We have had groups of all sizes come and join in the fun; such as church children’s and youth groups, schools, day cares, scouts, sport teams, company and church picnics, rehearsal dinners, wedding receptions, weddings, anniversaries, baby showers, graduation parties, birthdays (1yrs. to 80yrs.!), family and class reunions.
We also offer a very unique and stress-free fun raiser, very profitable! We have had people from all over the world visit Adventure Kingdom. We have a servant’s heart and we are looking forward to many more wonderful years of serving families. Thank you from the bottom of our heart in supporting us and helping make our dream come true!
